Letter to The Times

Following the Daily Mail's article on this draconian proposal for new legislation The Times has published some of its 'letters to the editor' in its Online Publication. The good thing is that the letters are against this proposed new law and The Times have seen fit to publish them.

Daily Mail Comments

Daily Mail Comments by Tom UtleyFollowing on from the Home Office's recommendations after conducting their consultation exercise on Extreme Pornography we could be forgiven for thinking that as a minority we have been ignored yet again. I was therefore surprised to see a well presented argument written by Tom Utley in the Daily Mail Comments.

We are in contact with the Daily Mail to reprint this article as it does not appear on their website. If we need to provide a petition of 50,000 signatures to combat those who want this law then we need to convince many people to consider their own freedom of thought, speech, and actions.

SM Pride at Work
Monday, 29 May 2006

SM Pride is already working hard in its new form:

  1. we are increasing our team of Regional Coordinators;
  2. we are working directly with the Home Office on pertinent issues;
  3. we are compiling a KAP list (Kink Aware Professionals);
  4. we are actively seeking BDSM aware professionals such as solicitors and therapists to assist our community.

We appreciate that some people may prefer not to become formally registered with SM Pride as a Stakeholder but please do not let that stop you from contributing. SM Pride is self funding and it takes hard cash to overcome social prejudice and pay for leaflets, postage and presentations to kink aware professionals. Access to BDSM aware services benefits all of our community – not just stakeholders. Please give generously.
